The collection includes material related to Hope College and their uncle, Edward D. Dimnent. In addition to newspaper clippings of Dimnent, the collection also includes photographs of Dimnent Memorial Chapel and documents relating to its construction. Adelaide Dykhuizen's college scrapbook is also included.

Twins Adelaide and Geraldine Dykhuizen were born in 1905. After the death of their father, their uncle (Edward D. Dimnent) brought the family into his home. Both Adelaide and Geraldine attended Hope College, belonged to the Delphi Sorority, and became teachers. Adelaide died in 1973 and Geraldine in 1988. From the description of Papers, 1868-1986. Dimnent graduated from Hope College in 1896. In 1898 Dimnent returned to Hope as a professor of Greek. He was appointed president of Hope College in 1918 and continued in that capacity until his resignation in 1931. Dimnent then returned to teaching until his retirement in 1948.
